Up and Comers: LAZRtag

They have come to make you dance and chances are they will succeed. With a fresh breed of electro-house that’s driven by heavy basslines and catchy synths, LAZRtag is bringing their music to dancefloors worldwide and having a blast in the process. While remixing anything from Crystal Castle’s “Crimewave” to M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes”, LAZRtag knows how to make a track rock. We had the pleasure of interviewing the duo, who will be headlining our San Francisco one year anniversary at Temple Nightclub on September 28th.

Hey, thanks for joining us here today, how is it going?

Great!

What have you guys been working on lately? Any new projects you’re excited about?

A few bangers here and there. Nothing yet, but will keep you updated.

Walk us through a usual day in the life of LAZRtag.

Coffee, music, cigarettes, more coffee, more music, more cigarettes.

How would you best describe your music?

Stuff your mom would question your sexuality on.

Who or what are you biggest influences?

Knife Party, Tommy Trash, Waka Flocka.

Word on the street, you guys are Star Wars geeks, dark or light side of the force?

It’s been on ongoing battle, but we are definitely leaning towards the dark side.

What do you think about electronic dance music today and how it has progressed? Where do you see the scene going in the next 10 years?

It’s progressed in terms of cross-genre inception. Pretty soon it won’t be called EDM. It will just be music.

Are there any new genres of music you have been experimenting with lately?

Country, Folk, and Aboriginal music.

You have remixed a wide variety of artists going from MIA to Justice, any particular method in picking the songs you remix?

Nope. We just remix whatever we like.

We are really excited for the show in San Francisco, got anything fun planned? What do we expect to hear from you?

We’re excited to be there! Can’t wait for a good show.
