Review: BT at Enclave (4/28/12)

April was a huge month for Chicago’s only Insomniac affiliated night club known as Enclave, bringing in such world class acts as Fedde Le Grande, Robbie Rivera, Gareth Emery, and, finally, BT this past weekend. Since December of 2011, BT has been airing a weekly radio show called Laptop Symphony on Sirius XM’s BPM, playing the best of trance, progressive house, and dubstep every Saturday from 12-1am EST. Chicago was lucky enough to experience what we believed to be his latest episode of his Laptop Symphony series live, but the set we listened to was not what he had streamed earlier that night. The EDM legend gave us something entirely new that was quite possibly one of the best sets I’ve ever heard live.

Starting off the night with Porter Robinson’s “100% in the Bitch” and then going into one of BT’s very own songs, “Suddenly (Dave Darell Mix)” got the crowd singing along to BT’s own vocals on the track and going crazy. The energy, excitement, and pure joy that was so apparent in BT was infectious as the crowd reciprocated the love to such electro-house bangers as Zedd’s “Don’t Slam the Door”, Swedish House Mafia’s “Antidote”, and Wolfgang Gartner’s “Manage A Trois”. As the night progressed, BT transitioned back to his trance roots with Ferry Corsten’s “Punk (Arty Rock-n-Rolla Mix)”, DJ Spoko & Mugwanti’s “Mugwanti (Mord Fustang Remix)”, and ending his epic set with his very own “Every Other Way (Armin Van Buuren Remix)”. This was not BT’s first show at Chicago’s Enclave, and it definitely will not be his last. If you’re in the Chicago area, make sure you check out the upcoming events at Enclave as they’re poised to present plenty of great talent in the coming weeks! Enclave Events

Moguai – Lyme (Moguai’s Crushed Lyme Mix)

Moguai continues to impress us and grow as a producer and this rendition of his own track “Lyme” is no exception. Released on Deadmau5′s record label, the track quickly makes its impression on you with a steady build that commences immediately. From there it procedes into a catchy riff and powerful baseline that gets you moving without hesitation. Original Nintendo fans will recognize a Super Mario influenced rivit preceding the drops from time to time. Check this one out and expect more from Moguai in the year to come.

Chuckie has a new release out today with ‘Glowinthedark’ and it’s definitely not the normal dirty dutch sound. This track goes EXTREMELY hard and is a level 10 banger. Chuckie has been changing his style to this harder sound and it seems to be catching on more and more in his productions. If you haven’t already, check out our interview with the man himself here.

Here the Dutchman Sidney Samson gives us a free remix to the Black Eyed Peas front man Will.I.Am’s ‘T.H.E’. The track holds on to some its pop roots, but Samson quickly brings in the screaming leads that we have come to know and love from the dirty dutch artists like himself.
