Wobble Wednesday: Flux Pavilion & Skism – Jump Back (Ft. Foreign Beggars)

Flux Pavilion and Foreign Beggars are working together again after the commercially successful “Lines In Wax” and this time they’ve got Skism to dirty up the production with “Jump Back”. The British based hip hop/grime group, Foreign Beggars, have been receiving a decent amount of exposure from the dubstep scene due to their work with Skrillex, Noisia, and others in the industry. Their latest work with Flux Pavilion and Skism continues to build upon their already huge discography of singles they have collaborated on with producers. “Jump Back” has all the trademark sounds from Flux Pavilion and Skism’s tracks, including Flux’s signature arpeggiated video game sounds and Skism’s satanic bass lines. Coupled with the lyrical wordsmith of Dubstep’s most prominent hip hop group, this track is surely a certified banger.

Sidney Samson feat. Lil Jon – Mutate (Original Mix)

Sidney Samson started dj-ing in 1995 at the age of 14. During that time he mainly played RnB and HipHop tunes at local clubs. He switched his style completely into housemusic in 1999. His new song “Mutate” is unlike any song I’ve heard in a long time. He opened with this track when I saw him perform at Dayglow last week in LA and the crowd went absolutely insane. I personally feel like Lil Jon is annoying when he is in any EDM song, but in this one it works. This song needs to be played at high volume in order to understand it. N-Joy

Wobble Wednesday: Kaskade – Eyes (Alvin Risk Remix)

A lot of remixes of Kaskade’s widely successful single “Eyes” have been released this week by big name artists the likes of R3hab and Swankey Tunes; both of which are great renditions. Alvin Risk’s remix moves away from the sound of the aforementioned electro remixes and delivers a huge dubstep bomb. The song begins with a traditional choppy dubstep beat accompanied by uplifting chimes that complement the vocals beautifully. The song, much like many dubstep tracks, quickly refutes that uplifting sound and builds into a high-frequency-synth-generated drop fueled by a heavy dose of bass.

Wobble Wednesday: Millions Like Us, SOFI – Broken Souvenirs (Extended Mix)

SOFI, or ‘Some Other Female Interest’, has gained attention in the EDM scene for her contribution on Deadmau5′s smash hits “Sofi Needs A Ladder” and “One Trick Pony”; both of which were released on his 4 x 4 album last year and her regular appearances at his shows. The Diva is now signed to Mau5trap’s label and released the first part of an EP titled “Locked and Loaded Pt. 1″.  In this dubstep slammer SOFI worked with Millions Like Us, also signed to Mau5trap, to provide her electrifying signature trademark vocals. The ambient opening of the track introduces a guitar, a light, stabby synth, and SOFI’s vocals; all creating a tension that leads up to precise hook. The drop is a rich combination of a deep LFO envelope automation mixed with pulse pounding high frequency riffs that interact with one another across the entire span of the stereo field.

Wobble Wednesday: Skream feat. Sam Frank – Anticipate EP

One of the founding fathers of dubstep is now himself a father in a more literal sense. Oliver Jones, better known as Skream, has been a critical influence in the development of the once underground genre of dubstep and has been producing music since the early 2000′s. Skream’s career took off with his debut album Skream! in 2006 and his career has been skyrocketing ever since. 2011 celebrates the year both Skream and Sam Frank have become fathers and to coincide with this important event in their lives, Skream has released “Anticipate”, which is a coming of age track about the anticipation of fatherhood. This ambient track features vocals from Sam Frank, who provided vocals for Skream’s “Where You Should Be” last year. Also remixing this track on the EP are Netsky and Cassius, who provide two different takes on “Anticipate”, which derive aspects of the original while introducing their own styles to the track.

Adele – Someone Like You (Mikael Weermets Rework)

Young singing phenom Adele has already asserted herself as one of the greatest singers of our generation with a voice that simultaneously evokes so many emotions within. It is for that reason alone that her songs have become so commonly remixed. Her passion-filled voice accompanies any progressive house beat to a tee and Mikael Weermets proves just that with his rework of her hugely popular “Someone Like You”. His rework utilizes Adele’s mesmerizing vocals in full force to produce a heavy synth-filled progressive anthem. However it is not until the break at the 3:00 mark that the song reveals its true beauty. A traditional piano riff complements the lyrics perfectly up until a synth build that could only be described as ‘epic’. Be sure to keep an eye out for Mikael Weermets in the future if he continues to release such high quality productions.

Avicii – Levels (Offical Music Video)

The Official music video is out for Avicii’s massive song that everyone has grown to love “Levels”. The video in my opinion fits the song perfectly. It’s upbeat, fun and not too serious, just like the song makes you feel. We’ve been waiting for this video to come out and it was worth the wait, let us know what you think!

Mark Simmons – Tear Us Apart (Mark Simmons Remix)

As a youngster, Mark Simmons interest in music started with icons like Prince and Michael Jackson. At the very young age of 15, he began performing as a Hip Hop DJ at parties and bars with a local Hip-Hop group in his home town. Now, after 15 years of being in the industry he gives to us his newest creation “Tear Us Apart” which was originally produced by him. This track has great vocals along with the ever so popular “Trouse” (trance and house) sounding synths. This song is one of my favorite tracks in my arsenal at the moment and i’m sure you’ll all feel the same.
