Featured Artist: Knife Party

Every time it looks as if dubstep is going to die someone comes along and manages to save it.  This time the genre calls upon two men to come to the rescue.  Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen, better known as 2/3′s of the drum and bass group Pendulum, are able to take dubstep in a direction completely their own.  Their sound is like a blend between Feed Me, Nero, and Skrillex.  Now I’ve personally never been a huge dubstep guy, but I felt obliged to give Knife Party the spotlight as they continue to drop some of the dirtiest tracks in recent memory.  They are on a remixing tear taking their shot at some of the biggest tracks of the year and they have recently collaborated with huge names the likes of Swedish House Mafia and Skrillex.  I honestly don’t know what it is about these guys but I get the sense that they will be some of the frontrunners in dubstep for years to come. I couldn’t pick just one song to feature so I decided to include a little medley; certain to give even the biggest dub heads their fix.  Be sure to check out their collaboration with SHM, “Antidote”, if you don’t have time for the rest. Axwell, Seb, and Steve recently featured this beast in their live mix on BBC Radio 1. Enjoy..
